Torrey Pines

Yesterday I visited Torrey Pines State Reserve in San Diego with my friend Mike. This is a large plateau over a nice beach. It was pretty crowded, being Memorial Day.

A view of Torrey Pines on the plateau overlooking the ocean. These are the rarest pine in North America (they only grow here).

Flat Rock is in the foreground, and La Jolla is in the distance. Between these lies Black's Beach, the largest nude beach in the United States.

Looking south toward La Jolla again. There is a gliderport on the cliffs above the beach, and a glider can barely be seen in the distance. At one point a dozen of them could be seen in the sky at once.

A lizard chilling by the path. From some quick research, maybe it's a (female) northwestern fence lizard?

A shot I took later in the evening right as the sun set on the Carlsbad beach.
