Yesterday I visited Torrey Pines State Reserve in San Diego with my friend Mike. This is a large plateau over a nice beach. It was pretty crowded, being Memorial Day.

Driving to California
So on Sunday I traveled 830.9 miles from Farmington, NM to Carlsbad, CA. I drove the whole 13-ish hours by myself, fueled by caffeine and audio books. I’m currently listening to the Wheel of Time (which I’ve already read…I’m trying to get ready for the 12th book). I stopped as little as possible, but I did snap a few pictures along the way.

Today, I went on a hike about an hour from my house to the top of a peak in the La Plata (redundant, I know) mountains. I went with my aunt and Leroy (a family friend). The day started out cloudy and got progressively worse.
